Ukulele performance for Culture Minister

23rd January 2015

On Thursday 22nd January the ukulele players from Year 4 and Year 5 were invited to perform at special concert. The performance took place at another local school (Jervoise School) and was part of a programme to showcase primary music provision across Birmingham to the Minister of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Ed Vaizey (MP).

All our ukulele players did themselves proud with their fantastic performance and Mr Shufflebottom was particularly proud of the way they represented Paganel Primary School. The Minister said it was the best ukulele band he'd seen, even better than his own child's!

He presented our school with two soft toys as a way of saying thank you to our two ukulele groups.

Very well done and thank you must go to all the children involved, to Mrs Vellacott and Mrs Bushell, and to Mr Hollingworth, our highly talented ukulele teacher. We all look forward to our ukulele players performing  at the next concert - watch this space for further details!
