Nursery Class

Welcome to Paganel Nursery!
This year, we are offering 15 free hours of nursery education to children aged 3-4 years old over two and a half days on Monday 8.30am - 3.15pm, Tuesday 8.30am - 3.15pm and Wednesday 8.30 - 11.30am.
Keep an eye on this page for weekly updates, including photographs, videos and examples of children's learning!
What do you need to bring to Nursery?
Children will need weather appropriate clothing every day in school (a coat etc. when it is cold and a hat when hot). We will be using our outdoor area every day and it is important that children are comfortable when using it. They will keep their belongings on their coat peg in the cloakroom area.
Please bring £1 per child per week on the first day of your session (Monday for Sunshine children, Wednesday for Moonlight children). This will contribute to the cost of buying extra snacks such as crackers and bread for the chilldren. Monies can be paid to any member of nursery staff.
You do not need to bring any food or water with you to school. Nursery children are provided with drinks, snacks and a lunch on their full days. Please see the office for details on the cost of lunches.
Children should also have a pair of black PE pumps for us to change into on our PE day. These will stay in school.

Useful Information:
School fund money: School fund is a voluntary contribution of £1 per week and can be paid to any member of staff in Nursery. Please hand this to staff in an envelope marked with your child’s name. If you would prefer to pay half termly or termly just speak to a member of the Nursery team and they will assist you with this. Nursery staff use this money to provide extra snacks (such as toast or crackers) and extra resources for the children.

P.E kits: Nursery children will need a pair of pumps to do PE. These will stay in school. No other PE kit is required.

Outdoor Learning: Outdoor learning takes place daily in Nursery. We go out to our outdoor classroom every day and sometimes we have an adventure in forest school. For this the children need to be wearing sensible clothing for the season (coat, hat, scarves). We have a number of pairs of wellington boots that the children can wear; alternatively you can bring in a pair which can be stored at school on our welly rack.

Homework: We will give homework every week in the children's home learning folder. These will be simple challenges often related to the topic.
Bringing toys in to Nursery: We would like to kindly ask that children do not bring toys into school every day. Children often misplace their toys and can become distressed if they cannot find them.
Naming clothes: Please ensure all of your child's items of clothing are named so they can be easily returned if they become misplaced.
Eating and drinking at Nursery: Children have access to our snack table at all times of the day and are welcome to help themselves. School provides milk and fruit and nursery staff provide extra snacks such as crackers and toast. Please let a member of staff know if your child has any dietry requirements.
